Founder's Story

Hey Bamboo Mommas!

Welcome to Bamboo My Baby! My name is Paola Rivera and I am the founder of this exclusively cozy shop! That being said- I make sure that you only receive top-tier material to put on your babies! While I may not be a momma myself yet (just a husky mom for now), I have worked with children my entire life. From a gymnastics instructor to babysitting to nannying to daycares to elementary schools; I have done it all!

What truly inspired me to create an all bamboo shop?

His name starts with the letter G! I was G's nanny for nearly three years. G is a non-verbal, autistic little boy. I took care of him from the time he was three years old. Living in Orlando, we would go on every theme park adventure you could possibly dream of! From Disney World to Universal Studios- you name the spot and we went! I truly had the time of my life learning to see life through the eyes of an autistic child. His attention to detail was immaculate and if you're familiar with autism, you'd know their senses are heightened. G was a very sensory seeking little boy and what went on his skin MATTERED! He exclusively wore long-sleeve bamboo pajamas for the longest time. He would throw a fit if we dared put any other material on him that wasn't long sleeved bamboo. This sparked my interest and curiosity in bamboo fabric. I began researching how incredible the material is for sensitive skin, eczema and for the environment. It even regulates the body temperature, which made sense why he exclusively enjoyed that material. It would cool him down in the hot Florida heat, while still fulfilling his sensory needs to wear long sleeves at all times, even in the summer! My research showed that bamboo was all that I stand for and I simply fell in love!

I opened my shop as an all bamboo baby boutique in May of 2023, selling many different brands of bamboo. I noticed moms falling in love the material, just as much as I did. After noticing the success in the boutique, in late 2023, I decided I wanted to transition the boutique into a shop where all items were my own customized and manufactured products. I personally pick the designs for my shop and have began creating a brand that people continuously fall in love with. I like to ensure that everyone who visits my shop feels welcome, understood and fulfilled with their shopping experience. Bamboo My Baby is my passion and I am excited to continue to watch it grow!
